An important White Marble Bust of Vice Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson, this finely carved bust is after the John Flaxman memorial in Saint Pauls Cathedral, which was started in 1808 and finished in 1818. There are small differences between the bust and the memorial.
The socle is engraved with "ENGLAND EXPECTS THAT EVERY MAN WILL DO HIS DUTY".
