An outstanding 19th century Baltic state marble top table. This top is unusual as it is inlaid with hard stones and agates mainly found in the Ural and Altia mountains. The top is laid out in a wonderful geometric design, using the amazing effect of the colour changing Labradorite to its full advantage. The finest Labradorite, although named after the Candadian deposits, is found in Russia and Finland. The large number of different types of Porphyry are found in the River Korgon in the Altia Mountains. The outer boarder is made from ovals of Lapis Lazuli found near Lake Baikal in Siberia. The Baltic Ash base has reeded columns and a concave design.
